Set Up Email on iPhone & iPad

Learn how to configure your Waymaker email on your iPhone or iPad.

Before You Start

You'll need:

  • Your email address (e.g., you@yourcompany.com)
  • Your email token (found in Commander > Email > Settings > Devices tab)

Important: Your email token is different from your Waymaker password. Use the token only for email app setup.

Finding Your Email Token

  1. Open Commander at commander.waymakerone.com
  2. Go to your email inbox
  3. Click the Settings gear icon
  4. Select the Devices tab
  5. Click Reveal Token and copy it

ActiveSync is the recommended setup because it provides:

  • Push email (instant notifications)
  • Calendar sync automatically included
  • Contacts sync automatically included

Steps

  1. Open Settings on your iPhone/iPad
  2. Tap Mail (or Accounts on older iOS versions)
  3. Tap Add Account
  4. Select Microsoft Exchange
  5. Enter your details:
    • Email: Your full email address
    • Description: Waymaker (or any name you prefer)
  6. Tap Next
  7. Select Configure Manually
  8. Enter the server settings:
    • Server: eas.waymakerone.com
    • Domain: Leave blank
    • Username: Your full email address
    • Password: Your email token
  9. Tap Next
  10. Choose what to sync:
    • Mail - Enable
    • Contacts - Enable
    • Calendars - Enable
    • Reminders - Optional
  11. Tap Save

Your email, calendar, and contacts will start syncing immediately.

Method 2: IMAP/SMTP

Use IMAP if you only need email (no calendar/contacts) or if ActiveSync doesn't work for your setup.

Steps

  1. Open Settings on your iPhone/iPad
  2. Tap Mail
  3. Tap Add Account
  4. Select Other
  5. Tap Add Mail Account
  6. Enter your details:
    • Name: Your display name
    • Email: Your full email address
    • Password: Your email token
    • Description: Waymaker
  7. Tap Next
  8. Select IMAP (not POP)
  9. Enter incoming mail server settings:

  1. Enter outgoing mail server settings:

  1. Tap Next
  2. Wait for verification to complete
  3. Tap Save

Configure SSL Settings

If verification fails, you may need to configure SSL manually:

  1. Go to Settings > Mail > Accounts
  2. Tap your Waymaker account
  3. Tap Account at the top
  4. Scroll down to Outgoing Mail Server
  5. Tap the server name
  6. Enable Use SSL
  7. Set Server Port to 465
  8. Tap Done

Troubleshooting

"Cannot Connect to Server"

  • Verify you're using your email token, not your Waymaker password
  • Check that the server names are spelled correctly
  • Ensure you have an internet connection
  • Try switching between WiFi and cellular data

"Authentication Failed"

  1. Go to Commander > Email > Settings > Devices
  2. Click Reset Token to generate a new token
  3. Copy the new token
  4. Delete the account from your iPhone
  5. Set up the account again with the new token

"Certificate Not Trusted"

This shouldn't happen with waymakerone.com servers. If you see this:

  • Make sure you typed waymakerone.com (not qboxmail.com)
  • Check for typos in the server address

Mail Not Syncing

  • Pull down on the inbox to manually refresh
  • Check that push/fetch is enabled: Settings > Mail > Accounts > Fetch New Data
  • Try disabling and re-enabling the account

Calendar/Contacts Not Syncing (ActiveSync)

  1. Go to Settings > Mail > Accounts
  2. Tap your Waymaker account
  3. Ensure Calendars and Contacts are enabled
  4. Wait a few minutes for initial sync

Tips

Enable Push Notifications

For instant email alerts:

  1. Go to Settings > Mail > Accounts > Fetch New Data
  2. Enable Push at the top
  3. Ensure your Waymaker account has Push enabled

Set as Default Account

To send from your Waymaker email by default:

  1. Go to Settings > Mail
  2. Scroll to Default Account
  3. Select your Waymaker account

VIP Notifications

Get special alerts for important contacts:

  1. Open the Mail app
  2. View a message from someone important
  3. Tap their name
  4. Tap Add to VIP
