Learn how to configure your Waymaker email on your iPhone or iPad.
Before You Start
You'll need:
- Your email address (e.g., you@yourcompany.com)
- Your email token (found in Commander > Email > Settings > Devices tab)
Important: Your email token is different from your Waymaker password. Use the token only for email app setup.
Finding Your Email Token
- Open Commander at commander.waymakerone.com
- Go to your email inbox
- Click the Settings gear icon
- Select the Devices tab
- Click Reveal Token and copy it
Method 1: ActiveSync (Recommended)
ActiveSync is the recommended setup because it provides:
- Push email (instant notifications)
- Calendar sync automatically included
- Contacts sync automatically included
Steps
- Open Settings on your iPhone/iPad
- Tap Mail (or Accounts on older iOS versions)
- Tap Add Account
- Select Microsoft Exchange
- Enter your details:
- Email: Your full email address
- Description: Waymaker (or any name you prefer)
- Tap Next
- Select Configure Manually
- Enter the server settings:
- Server:
eas.waymakerone.com - Domain: Leave blank
- Username: Your full email address
- Password: Your email token
- Server:
- Tap Next
- Choose what to sync:
- Mail - Enable
- Contacts - Enable
- Calendars - Enable
- Reminders - Optional
- Tap Save
Your email, calendar, and contacts will start syncing immediately.
Method 2: IMAP/SMTP
Use IMAP if you only need email (no calendar/contacts) or if ActiveSync doesn't work for your setup.
Steps
- Open Settings on your iPhone/iPad
- Tap Mail
- Tap Add Account
- Select Other
- Tap Add Mail Account
- Enter your details:
- Name: Your display name
- Email: Your full email address
- Password: Your email token
- Description: Waymaker
- Tap Next
- Select IMAP (not POP)
- Enter incoming mail server settings:

- Enter outgoing mail server settings:

- Tap Next
- Wait for verification to complete
- Tap Save
Configure SSL Settings
If verification fails, you may need to configure SSL manually:
- Go to Settings > Mail > Accounts
- Tap your Waymaker account
- Tap Account at the top
- Scroll down to Outgoing Mail Server
- Tap the server name
- Enable Use SSL
- Set Server Port to
465 - Tap Done
Troubleshooting
"Cannot Connect to Server"
- Verify you're using your email token, not your Waymaker password
- Check that the server names are spelled correctly
- Ensure you have an internet connection
- Try switching between WiFi and cellular data
"Authentication Failed"
- Go to Commander > Email > Settings > Devices
- Click Reset Token to generate a new token
- Copy the new token
- Delete the account from your iPhone
- Set up the account again with the new token
"Certificate Not Trusted"
This shouldn't happen with waymakerone.com servers. If you see this:
- Make sure you typed
waymakerone.com(notqboxmail.com) - Check for typos in the server address
Mail Not Syncing
- Pull down on the inbox to manually refresh
- Check that push/fetch is enabled: Settings > Mail > Accounts > Fetch New Data
- Try disabling and re-enabling the account
Calendar/Contacts Not Syncing (ActiveSync)
- Go to Settings > Mail > Accounts
- Tap your Waymaker account
- Ensure Calendars and Contacts are enabled
- Wait a few minutes for initial sync
Tips
Enable Push Notifications
For instant email alerts:
- Go to Settings > Mail > Accounts > Fetch New Data
- Enable Push at the top
- Ensure your Waymaker account has Push enabled
Set as Default Account
To send from your Waymaker email by default:
- Go to Settings > Mail
- Scroll to Default Account
- Select your Waymaker account
VIP Notifications
Get special alerts for important contacts:
- Open the Mail app
- View a message from someone important
- Tap their name
- Tap Add to VIP
