Set Up Email on Android

Learn how to configure your Waymaker email on your Android phone or tablet.
Before You Start
You'll need:
- Your email address (e.g., you@yourcompany.com)
- Your email token (found in Commander > Email > Settings > Devices tab)
Important: Your email token is different from your Waymaker password. Use the token only for email app setup.
Finding Your Email Token
- Open Commander at commander.waymakerone.com
- Go to your email inbox
- Click the Settings gear icon
- Select the Devices tab
- Click Reveal Token and copy it
Method 1: Gmail App (Recommended)
The Gmail app supports IMAP and works well with Waymaker email.
Steps
- Open the Gmail app
- Tap your profile picture (top right)
- Tap Add another account
- Select Other
- Enter your full email address
- Tap Next
- Select Personal (IMAP)
- Enter your email token as the password
- Tap Next
- Configure incoming server:

- Configure outgoing server:

- Tap Next
- Configure sync options (frequency, notifications)
- Enter your name (for outgoing emails)
- Tap Next to complete setup
Method 2: Samsung Email App
For Samsung devices, you can use the built-in Email app.
Steps
- Open the Email app
- Tap Add account or go to Settings > Add account
- Select Other
- Enter your email address and tap Manual Setup
- Select IMAP account
- Enter account details:
- Email address: Your full email address
- Username: Your full email address
- Password: Your email token
- Configure incoming server:

- Enter your display name
- Tap Done
Method 3: Microsoft Outlook App
The Outlook app for Android works well with Waymaker email.
Steps
- Download Microsoft Outlook from Play Store
- Open Outlook
- Tap Add Account
- Enter your email address
- Tap Continue
- Select IMAP
- Enter your details:
- Display Name: Your name
- Description: Waymaker
- Configure IMAP settings:
- IMAP Host Name:
imap.waymakerone.com - IMAP Username: Your full email address
- IMAP Password: Your email token
- IMAP Host Name:
- Configure SMTP settings:
- SMTP Host Name:
smtp.waymakerone.com - SMTP Username: Your full email address
- SMTP Password: Your email token
- SMTP Host Name:
- Tap the checkmark to complete setup
Method 4: ActiveSync (Exchange)
ActiveSync provides email, calendar, and contacts sync together.
Steps (Gmail App)
- Open Settings on your Android device
- Go to Accounts (or Users & accounts)
- Tap Add account
- Select Exchange
- Enter your email address
- Tap Manual setup
- Select Exchange
- Enter settings:
- Domain: Leave blank
- Username: Your full email address
- Password: Your email token
- Server:
eas.waymakerone.com
- Tap Next
- Accept security policies if prompted
- Choose what to sync (Mail, Calendar, Contacts)
- Tap Next to complete
Troubleshooting
"Cannot Connect to Server"
- Verify you're using your email token, not your Waymaker password
- Check server names are spelled correctly (
waymakerone.com) - Ensure you have an internet connection
- Try switching between WiFi and mobile data
"Authentication Failed"
- Go to Commander > Email > Settings > Devices
- Click Reset Token to generate a new token
- Copy the new token
- Remove the account from your Android device
- Add the account again with the new token
"Security Certificate Error"
This shouldn't happen with waymakerone.com servers. If you see this:
- Double-check the server addresses
- Make sure you're using
waymakerone.com, not another domain - Try accepting the certificate if offered
Email Not Syncing
- Open the email app and pull down to refresh
- Check sync settings: Settings > Accounts > [Your Account] > Account sync
- Ensure background data is not restricted
- Check battery optimization isn't limiting the app
Sent Mail Not Appearing
- Verify SMTP settings are correct
- Check the Sent folder syncs: Account settings > Folders to sync
- Send a test email to yourself
Tips
Enable Notifications
- Go to Settings > Apps > [Email App] > Notifications
- Enable notifications
- Customize notification sounds if desired
Set Sync Frequency
- Open your email app
- Go to account settings
- Choose sync frequency (Push, every 15 min, etc.)
Add to Home Screen
Create a shortcut for quick access:
- Long-press on your home screen
- Tap Widgets
- Find your email app's widget
- Drag it to your home screen
