Configure your Waymaker email on your Android phone or tablet using IMAP. For calendar and contacts, see Sync Calendar to Devices and Sync Contacts to Devices — Android needs the DAVx5 app for those.

Before you start

You'll need:

  • Your full email address (e.g. you@yourcompany.com)
  • Your email token

Important: the email token is not your Waymaker password. Use it only for setting up email apps. Find it in Commander → EmailSettings (gear) → Setup tab → Your CredentialsReveal.

For full server settings, see Manual Settings Reference.

The Gmail app supports IMAP and works well with Waymaker email.

  1. Open the Gmail app
  2. Tap your profile picture (top right)
  3. Tap Add another account
  4. Select Other
  5. Enter your full email address
  6. Tap Next
  7. Select Personal (IMAP)
  8. Enter your email token as the password
  9. Tap Next
  10. Configure incoming server:

  4. Select IMAP
  5. Enter your details:

Calendar and contacts on Android

Android doesn't have built-in CalDAV or CardDAV. The DAVx5 app handles both, and it can connect once for everything — calendars, address books, even task lists.

See Sync Calendar to Devices and Sync Contacts to Devices for the DAVx5 setup.

Troubleshooting

"Cannot Connect to Server"

  • Verify you're using your email token, not your Waymaker password
  • Check server names are spelled correctly (imap.waymakerone.com, smtp.waymakerone.com)
  • Confirm you have an internet connection
  • Try switching between Wi-Fi and mobile data

"Authentication Failed"

  1. In Commander, go to EmailSettingsSetupYour Credentials
  2. Click Reset Token to generate a new token
  3. Copy the new token
  4. Remove the account from your Android device
  5. Add it again with the new token

"Security Certificate Error"

This shouldn't happen with waymakerone.com servers. If you see it:

  • Double-check the server addresses
  • Make sure you're using waymakerone.com, not another domain
  • Tap Continue if the warning offers — but only after confirming the server name matches

Email not syncing

  • Open the email app and pull down to refresh
  • Check sync settings: SettingsAccounts → your account → Account sync
  • Confirm background data isn't restricted for the app
  • Check battery optimization isn't limiting the app

Sent mail not appearing

  • Verify SMTP settings are correct
  • Check the Sent folder syncs: account settings → Folders to sync
  • Send a test email to yourself

Tips

Notifications

  1. Go to SettingsApps → your email app → Notifications
  2. Enable notifications and customize the sound

Sync frequency

  1. Open your email app
  2. Go to account settings
  3. Choose sync frequency (Push, every 15 min, etc.)

Add to home screen

Most email apps offer a widget you can drop on your home screen for quick access.
