Sync Your Contacts to Devices
Learn about Sync Your Contacts to Devices in WaymakerOS.
Sync your Waymaker address book to your phone, tablet, or computer.
Apple devices — already done
If you've installed the Waymaker OS configuration profile on your iPhone, iPad, or Mac (see Set Up Email on iPhone & iPad or Set Up Email in Apple Mail), your contacts are already syncing — there's nothing else to do.
Open the Contacts app and you'll see your Waymaker address book under Waymaker OS. New contacts sync near-instantly in both directions.
If you only want contacts (no email or calendar), use the Contacts-only setup instructions for your platform below.
Contacts-only setup
These instructions add only the address book — they do not add email or calendar. For the all-in-one approach, install the configuration profile instead.
Server settings

For most clients, the server name alone is enough — they discover the address book automatically. If your client requires a full URL, see Manual Settings Reference.
Find your email token in Commander → Email → Settings (gear) → Setup tab → Your Credentials.
iPhone & iPad (CardDAV only)
- Open Settings → Contacts → Accounts
- Tap Add Account → Other
- Tap Add CardDAV Account
- Enter:
- Server:
dav.waymakerone.com - User Name: Your full email address
- Password: Your email token
- Description: Waymaker
- Server:
- Tap Next, then Save
Your Waymaker contacts appear in the Contacts app within a minute.
macOS (CardDAV only)
- Open System Settings → Internet Accounts
- Click Add Account
- Select Add Other Account → CardDAV account
- Set Account Type to Manual
- Enter:
- User Name: Your full email address
- Password: Your email token
- Server Address:
dav.waymakerone.com
- Click Sign In
Your contacts appear in the Contacts app within a minute.
Android with DAVx5
Android doesn't ship with built-in CardDAV support. The DAVx5 app handles it.
- Install DAVx5 from Play Store (or F-Droid)
- Open DAVx5 and tap the + button
- Select Login with URL and user name
- Enter:

https://dav.waymakerone.com/ - User name: Your full email address
- Password: Your email token
- Base URL:
- Tap Login
- Choose which address books (and calendars, if you also want them) to sync
- Tap the sync icon
Contacts now appear in your device's Contacts app.
Windows Outlook with CalDAV Synchronizer
Outlook on Windows desktop doesn't have built-in CardDAV. The free CalDAV Synchronizer add-in handles it.
- Download CalDAV Synchronizer from outlookcaldavsynchronizer.sourceforge.io
- Install and restart Outlook
- Open the CalDAV Synchronizer tab
- Click Synchronization Profiles, then Add new profile
- Select Generic CalDAV/CardDAV
- Configure:
- Name: Waymaker Contacts
- Outlook Folder: Select your contacts folder
- DAV URL:
https://dav.waymakerone.com/ - Username: Your full email address
- Password: Your email token
- Click Test or discover settings — it'll find your address book automatically
- Click OK

Thunderbird
- Open Thunderbird
- Go to Tools → Address Book (or press Ctrl+Shift+B)
- Click File → New → CardDAV Address Book
- Enter:
- Username: Your full email address
- Location:
https://dav.waymakerone.com/
- Click Continue
- Enter your email token when prompted
- Select your address book and click Continue
Thunderbird discovers your address books from the server name alone.
Troubleshooting
"Cannot connect to server"
- Verify your email token is correct (find it in Commander → Email → Settings → Setup → Your Credentials)
- Confirm the server is
dav.waymakerone.com - Check your internet connection
If your client doesn't auto-discover from the server name, try the full URL form. See Manual Settings Reference for the path-based fallback.
"Authentication failed"
Reset your token and try again:
- In Commander, go to Email → Settings → Setup → Your Credentials
- Click Reset Token to generate a new one
- Update the password in your contacts app with the new token
Contacts don't appear
- Wait a minute for initial discovery
- Confirm the account is enabled in your app's settings
- Try removing and re-adding the account
Duplicate contacts
If you see duplicates after enabling sync:
- Disable other contact sync sources temporarily
- Merge duplicates in your contacts app
- Re-enable sync
Certificate error
- Confirm you're using
dav.waymakerone.com - Check your device's date and time are correct
- Update your operating system
Tips
Default account
Set Waymaker as your default address book so new contacts save there.
iPhone & iPad:
- Go to Settings → Contacts → Default Account
- Select your Waymaker account
Android:
- Open the Contacts app
- Open Settings
- Set Default account for new contacts
Contact groups
Groups created in Commander sync to your devices and appear as contact lists.
Backup
Your contacts live on Waymaker's servers and sync to your devices, so they're backed up automatically. Add a new device and sign in to restore.
Sync frequency
CardDAV sync frequency depends on the client — typically every 15–60 minutes by default. Reduce the interval in your app's settings for faster updates.
