Set Up Email in Thunderbird
Learn about Set Up Email in Thunderbird in WaymakerOS.
Configure your Waymaker email, calendar, and contacts in Mozilla Thunderbird.
Before you start
You'll need:
- Your full email address (e.g.
you@yourcompany.com) - Your email token
Important: the email token is not your Waymaker password. Use it only for setting up email apps. Find it in Commander → Email → Settings (gear) → Setup tab → Your Credentials → Reveal.
For full server settings, see Manual Settings Reference.
Setting up email
Thunderbird's account wizard usually requires a manual step for Waymaker accounts — auto-detection doesn't always work.
- Open Thunderbird
- If this is your first account, the setup wizard appears. Otherwise go to Account Settings → Account Actions → Add Mail Account
- Enter:
- Your full name: Your display name
- Email address: Your full email address
- Password: Your email token
- Click Continue
- If auto-detection runs, let it finish, then click Configure manually if the discovered settings don't match below
- Enter the following settings:
Incoming Server (IMAP)
| Setting | Value |
|---|---|
| Protocol | IMAP |
| Server | imap.waymakerone.com |
| Port | 993 |
| Connection security | SSL/TLS |
| Authentication method | Normal password |
| Username | Your full email address |
Outgoing Server (SMTP)
| Setting | Value |
|---|---|
| Server | smtp.waymakerone.com |
| Port | 465 |
| Connection security | SSL/TLS |
| Authentication method | Normal password |
| Username | Your full email address |
- Click Re-test to verify
- Click Done
Thunderbird begins syncing your inbox.
Adding your calendar
Thunderbird discovers your Waymaker calendars from the server name alone.
- Go to File → New → Calendar, or click the calendar icon and choose New Calendar
- Select On the Network and click Next
- Enter:
- Username: Your full email address
- Location:
https://dav.waymakerone.com/
- Click Find Calendars
- Enter your email token when prompted for password
- Select the calendars you want from the discovered list
- Give each a name and color
- Click Subscribe
If discovery doesn't return results, you can fall back to the full path. See Manual Settings Reference.
Adding your contacts
Thunderbird discovers your address books the same way.
- Go to Tools → Address Book (or press Ctrl+Shift+B)
- Click File → New → CardDAV Address Book
- Enter:
- Username: Your full email address
- Location:
https://dav.waymakerone.com/
- Click Continue
- Enter your email token when prompted
- Select the address book(s) you want
- Click Continue
Troubleshooting

- Verify you're using your email token, not your Waymaker password
- Check that the server names are spelled correctly
- Confirm SSL/TLS is selected (not STARTTLS)

- Check your internet connection
- Verify server addresses:
- IMAP:
imap.waymakerone.com - SMTP:
smtp.waymakerone.com - CalDAV / CardDAV:
dav.waymakerone.com
- IMAP:
- Try temporarily disabling firewall or antivirus
"Certificate error"
- Confirm the server in the warning is
*.waymakerone.com - Check that your system date and time are correct
"Authentication failed"
- In Commander, go to Email → Settings → Setup → Your Credentials
- Click Reset Token to generate a new token
- In Thunderbird, right-click your account, select Settings
- Click Server Settings and update the password
- Also update the SMTP password under Outgoing Server (SMTP)
- For calendars and address books, you'll be prompted for the new password on next sync
"Find Calendars" returns nothing
- Confirm the location is exactly
https://dav.waymakerone.com/(with the trailing slash) - Verify the username is your full email address
