The Calendar in Commander helps you:
Manage your schedule, schedule meetings, and stay organized with the WaymakerOS calendar.
Overview
The Calendar in Commander helps you:
- View and manage your schedule
- Create events and meetings
- Schedule with team members
- Set reminders
- Coordinate across time zones
Getting Started
Accessing Calendar
- Open Commander
- Click Calendar in the sidebar
- Your calendar opens in day view by default
Calendar Views
Switch between views using the buttons at the top:
- Day - Detailed view of a single day
- Week - Overview of the current week
- Month - Full month at a glance
Creating Events
Quick Event
- Click anywhere on the calendar
- Enter event title
- Click Save
The event is created at the clicked time with default duration.
Detailed Event
- Click New Event or double-click on the calendar
- Enter event details:
- Title - Name of the event
- Date and Time - When it starts and ends
- Location - Where it takes place (optional)
- Description - Additional details
- Click Save
Recurring Events
For repeating events:
- Create an event
- Click Repeat
- Choose frequency:
- Daily
- Weekly (select days)
- Monthly
- Custom pattern
- Set end date or number of occurrences
- Click Save
Meetings and Invites
Inviting Attendees
- Create or edit an event
- Click Add Attendees
- Search for team members by name or email
- Select attendees
- Click Save
Invitees receive an email notification with the meeting details.
Responding to Invites
When you're invited to a meeting:
- Open the event from your calendar or email
- Click Accept, Decline, or Maybe
- Your response is sent to the organizer
Scheduling with Availability
To find a time that works for everyone:
- Create a new event
- Add attendees
- Click Find a Time
- View attendees' availability
- Choose an open slot
- Save the event
Calendar Settings
Working Hours
Set your typical working hours:
- Go to Commander > Settings > Calendar
- Set your working hours (e.g., 9 AM - 5 PM)
- Non-working hours are shaded on your calendar
Default Event Duration
Choose how long new events are by default:
- 30 minutes
- 1 hour
- Custom duration
Time Zone
Set your time zone to ensure events display at the correct local time:
- Go to Commander > Settings > Calendar
- Select your time zone
- Events adjust automatically
Reminders
Event Reminders
Get notified before events:
- Open an event
- Click Add Reminder
- Choose when to be reminded:
- 5 minutes before
- 15 minutes before
- 1 hour before
- 1 day before
- Custom time
Notification Preferences
Control how you're notified:
- Go to Commander > Settings > Notifications
- Under Calendar, choose:
- Browser notifications
- Email notifications
- Both or neither
Multiple Calendars
Personal vs Team Calendars
- Personal Calendar - Your private schedule
- Team Calendars - Shared with your team
Viewing Multiple Calendars
- In the calendar sidebar, check the calendars to display
- Events from all selected calendars appear color-coded
- Toggle calendars on/off as needed
Calendar Colors
Assign colors to distinguish calendars:
- Click the calendar name in the sidebar
- Select Change Color
- Choose a color
- Events from that calendar display in the new color
Integration with Tasks
Task Due Dates on Calendar
Tasks with due dates can appear on your calendar:
- Go to Commander > Settings > Calendar
- Enable Show Task Due Dates
- Tasks appear as all-day events on their due date
Creating Tasks from Events
Turn a meeting into action items:
- Open an event
- Click Add Task
- Enter task details
- The task is linked to the event
Best Practices
Block Focus Time
Schedule uninterrupted work time:
- Create a recurring event called "Focus Time"
- Mark it as busy
- Others see you're unavailable
Keep Events Updated
If plans change:
- Update event details
- Notify attendees of changes
- Cancel events you won't attend
Use Descriptions
Add useful information to event descriptions:
- Meeting agenda
- Links to relevant documents
- Preparation notes
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I sync with Google Calendar or Outlook?
Calendar integration with external providers is coming soon.
Can I share my calendar with people outside my organization?
Currently, calendars are visible within your organization. External sharing is planned for a future release.
What happens to recurring events when I change one?
You can choose to update just that instance, or all future occurrences.
How far ahead can I schedule events?
You can schedule events up to 5 years in advance.

Sync your Waymaker calendar to your phone, tablet, or computer:
- Sync Calendar to Devices - iPhone, Android, Mac, Windows, and Thunderbird
CalDAV Server Settings
For apps that support CalDAV:
