Apps in Your Workspace

Learn about Apps in Your Workspace in WaymakerOS.

AppsWorkspaces

Access apps built in Host and third-party tools directly from Commander. Apps appear in the Tools > Apps section of your sidebar.

How Apps Work

There are two types of apps in your workspace:

Host apps are built and deployed through Waymaker Host. They load inside Commander as a tab, so you can work in them alongside your other tools. External links are bookmarks to third-party services your team uses daily.

Browsing Available Apps

  1. Open Tools from the sidebar (Cmd+4)
  2. Click Apps
  3. Scroll to Browse Apps to see apps available in your organisation

Each app card shows the app name, description, publisher workspace, and how many workspaces have subscribed.

Subscribing to an App

  1. Find the app in Browse Apps
  2. Click Subscribe
  3. The app moves to your My Apps section

Subscribing adds the app to your workspace. You do not need permission from the app owner — any workspace in the organisation can subscribe to a listed app.

Opening an App

From the My Apps section:

  • Click Open to load the app in a Commander tab — it appears alongside your documents, sheets, and other tools
  • Click the expand icon to open the app in a new window at full size — useful for apps you want to work in like a standalone application (CRM, finance tools, dashboards)

Unsubscribing

  1. Find the app in My Apps
  2. Click the trash icon
  3. The app is removed from your workspace

Unsubscribing removes the app from your workspace only. Other workspaces that have subscribed are not affected.

Updates Are Instant

When the app developer deploys an update, every subscriber sees the change immediately. There is nothing to pull, sync, or update — the app loads from the same URL every time.
