A Connection Canvas is a workspace where you create and manage your connections. Think of it like a taskboard for integrations — each connection appears as a card you can click to configure.
Creating a Canvas
- Open a workspace in Commander
- Click Connections in the sidebar, or use the "+" menu
- Give your canvas a name (e.g., "Marketing Integrations" or "Website Analytics")
- Your canvas is ready — start adding connections
Adding Connections
- Click the "+" button on your canvas
- A sidebar opens — name your connection
- Choose a connection type:
- Signal — Website analytics tracking
- Webhook — Receive events from external services
- API — Sync data using an API key
- MCP — Connect AI Chat to external MCP servers
- Configure the connection (each type has different settings)
Managing Connections
Click a connection card to:
- View its Overview — status, configuration, recent events
- Check the Event Log — all events received by this connection
- Edit Field Mapping — how incoming data maps to your workspace
- Open Settings — rename, pause, or delete
Connection Status
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Active | Receiving events normally |
| Paused | Temporarily stopped — no events processed |
| Error | Something went wrong — check settings |
| Disconnected | Not configured or authentication expired |
Canvas Settings
Click the gear icon on your canvas to:
- Rename the canvas
- Change the description
- Archive the canvas (connections are preserved but hidden)
