Performance Tracking

Learn about Performance Tracking in WaymakerOS.

PerformanceTracking

Track how your organisation performs against its goals. Performance tracking connects objectives, key results, and task completion into a unified view.

The performance view

Performance tracking in Commander brings together data from multiple sources:

  • Goals — objective progress and key result completion rates
  • Tasks — task completion velocity across taskboards
  • Dashboards — custom metrics from your data

How it works

Goal-level performance

Each goal's performance is automatically calculated from its key results. If an objective has three key results:

  • KR1: 80% complete
  • KR2: 60% complete
  • KR3: 100% complete

The objective is 80% complete (average of key results).

Status indicators

ColourMeaning
GreenOn track — progress matches or exceeds the timeline
AmberAt risk — behind expected progress but recoverable
RedBehind — significantly below where it should be

Team performance

View performance aggregated by team:

  • How many goals each team owns
  • Average progress across all team goals
  • Task completion rates for team members
  • Trending up or down vs previous period

Individual performance

View performance for individual team members:

  • Goals they own or contribute to
  • Tasks assigned and completed
  • Activity level and engagement

Using performance data

Weekly reviews

Use the performance view in weekly team standups to:

  • Identify goals that are falling behind
  • Celebrate goals that are ahead of schedule
  • Reallocate resources to at-risk objectives

Quarterly planning

At the end of each quarter, use performance data to:

  • Assess which objectives were achieved
  • Understand why some goals fell short
  • Set informed targets for the next quarter
  • Adjust team structures if needed

One-on-ones

Managers can use individual performance data in one-on-one meetings to:

  • Review goal progress together
  • Identify blockers and provide support
  • Set personal development objectives
  • Celebrate achievements

Connecting the dots

Performance tracking is most powerful when your daily work connects to strategic goals:

  1. Set objectives in Goals (strategic direction)
  2. Break into key results (measurable outcomes)
  3. Create tasks on Taskboards (daily work)
  4. Track progress in Performance (the feedback loop)

When a task is completed that contributes to a key result, and that key result contributes to an objective — everyone can see how their work matters.
