What is Host Direct?
Host Direct is a new way to build websites. Instead of learning a page builder like Wix or Squarespace, or setting up a development environment with GitHub, you describe what you want in plain language to an AI agent. The agent writes the code, uploads the files, and your site is live on a global CDN — all in one conversation.
This is website building without the website builder.

How it works

No GitHub required
Traditional Waymaker Host apps connect to a GitHub repository for continuous deployment. Host Direct bypasses this entirely. Files go straight from the AI agent to the CDN. This means:
- No repository to create or manage
- No git knowledge required
- No CI/CD pipeline to configure
- No build step — files are served as-is
- Instant deployment on every change
Automatic versioning
Every deployment creates a new version. You can always see what changed and when. The previous version's URL remains accessible, so nothing is lost.
Getting started
Prerequisites
- A Waymaker account with an organization
- Claude Desktop (or Claude Code, Cursor, or any MCP-compatible agent)
- The Waymaker MCP server connected (setup guide)
Your first site
Open a conversation with your AI agent and say:
"Create a landing page for my dog walking business called Happy Paws. Include a hero section, services list, pricing, and a contact form."
The agent will:
- Write the HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Create a new app called "happy-paws" on Waymaker Host
- Upload the files using Host Direct
- Return a live URL like
https://happy-paws--yourorg.waymakerapp.com
Iterating
Once your site is live, keep talking:
"Make the background darker and add a testimonials section"
"Add a photo gallery — here are the images" (paste or describe)
"Change the pricing to $25 for a 30-minute walk"
Each change creates a new deployment. Your site updates in seconds.
Adding a custom domain
When you're ready to go professional:
"Set up happypawswalking.com as the custom domain for my app"
The agent handles the domain setup and gives you DNS records to configure. Once DNS propagates, your site is live on your own domain with automatic SSL.

Host Direct is included with your WaymakerOne Pass. Every iteration uses AI credits (for the agent generating code) and deployment bandwidth (for serving the site). Higher-tier plans include more of both.
