Introduction to Dashboards & Analytics
Learn about Introduction to Dashboards & Analytics in WaymakerOS.
Build custom dashboards to visualize your data. Add widgets for charts, metrics, tables, and gauges — pulling data from your workspace and connected sources.
What are Dashboards?
Dashboards in Waymaker Commander give you a visual overview of the data that matters. Create custom dashboards with widgets that display charts, KPIs, tables, and gauges — all updating in real time.
Unlike standalone analytics tools, dashboards connect directly to your workspace data — tasks, tables, sheets, and external connections. No data exports, no manual updates.
Common use cases
- Executive dashboards — revenue, customer count, team velocity
- Project dashboards — task completion, sprint progress, blockers
- Sales dashboards — pipeline value, conversion rates, deal stages
- Operations dashboards — uptime, response times, ticket volume
- Marketing dashboards — traffic, leads, campaign performance
Key features
Widget types
- Charts — line, bar, pie, and area charts for trends and comparisons
- Metrics — single-number KPIs with trend indicators (up/down arrows)
- Tables — data grids showing the latest records
- Gauges — visual indicators against a target (e.g., 75% of goal)
- Timelines — chronological event displays
Data sources
Pull data from multiple sources into a single dashboard:
- Internal — your Commander tables, taskboards, and sheets
- Connections — external data from connected services (Stripe, Google, webhooks)
- Queries — custom queries with filters, aggregations, and grouping
Query builder
Build queries visually — no SQL required:
- Filters — narrow data by column values
- Aggregations — COUNT, SUM, AVERAGE, MIN, MAX, DISTINCT
- Grouping — group by column (e.g., by status, by month)
- Date ranges — presets (today, this week, this month, this quarter) or custom ranges
- Time granularity — hour, day, week, month, quarter, year
Thresholds and alerts
Set threshold values on widgets. When a metric crosses a threshold, the widget changes colour (green/amber/red), giving you an instant visual signal.
Dashboard scope
Dashboards can be scoped to different levels:
- Personal — visible only to you
- Project — visible to everyone in the project
- Workspace — visible to all workspace members
- Organization — visible across the entire organisation
